Kitsch, or Spot On?
Today, an employee of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) told me that if illegally withheld funds (say, part of a widow’s annuity from her late husband) were difficult to obtain from OPM before Elon Musk and Kids’ takeover (what, this last Friday?), they will be next to impossible to obtain from here on out.
How far of a jump will it be for all of OPM’s clients (thousands and thousands of us) to be involuntarily sharing all our sensitive financial and medical information - and control of benefits we’re entitled to - with this unelected yahoo and his team of young adults? Not far, I think. In fact, I’m betting we’re there now.

Have fun watching all the grandparents, widows, orphans and chronically ill in your lives deal with that, ya Trumpies. But hey, at least it’s not your problem.
Yet.
Respect and gratitude to Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and her Vancouver office, who urged me to fill out an official request for help - and reassured me that my pushback on the Gaza taxpayer-funded genocide this past year+ doesn’t exempt me from that help. That is how you redeem yourself, Representative. It doesn’t fix the genocide bit, but it’s a fine start.
Pro tip: If you’re calling OPM, be prepared for 20 or more rapid callbacks to get to hold, and another 40 minutes waiting, then. Yes, even if you hit them when they open at 4:40 a.m. Pacific (I tired o.O). Takes me back to my days in Miami as a teen, trying to win metal concert tickets with my savvy dial timing - only with a much less satisfying payoff.
